In 1981, Joan Desadora and Family opened The Parting Glass. Thirty-two years later, her success continues as she welcomes in 2013.
An old Irish proverb states that the last drink of the evening is "the parting glass" and here, it can be any one of over 100 beers, 36 of them on tap! Irish visitors themselves claim that this old style tavern serves up one of the best pints of Guinness in the United States!
The Parting Glass was established on St. Patrick's Day 1981, and was named number three Irish Pub worldwide by the readers of the international lifestyles magazine Ireland of the Welcome, along with being voted one of the Top Ten Irish Pubs in the United States by USA Today. We are located at 40-42 Lake Avenue. A social gathering place, you will enjoy great atmosphere, execellent food {voted Winner of the People's Choice Award three consecutive years during Saratoga's Chowder Fest} homemade soups daily, delicious burgers, and our best selling sandwich - The O'Reilly ..... We serve pub style grub daily till closing!
Three rooms offer Casual dining, Live Music, Celtic Music sessions, Texas Hold'em Night, and 2nd full bar with 9 English Dart Boards, home of the Parting Glass Dart League.
As we celebrate our 31st year, we are proud to be a part of Saratoga's continued success in providing our community with the best in food and entertainment. The Lyrics of the song, "The Parting Glass", wishes everyone a safe journey and joy: and thus derives the name of our pub = The Parting Glass.
